POOLSIDE

POOLSIDE

There’s nothing like your own pool when you’re entertaining or even isolating at home. We have compiled images of our favourite pools from around the globe to inspire you if your’e renovating or even just dreaming.
Dr Wallace Nichols, author of Blue Mind - say that the happiness we feel near a pool isn’t just put down to good vibes—there are scientific reasons for how we feel. Studies found that people who live near water are actually healthier and happier. Historically the presence of water is associated with ease of survival, as clean water comes with resources like fish, plants and timber. It’s part of our DNA to relax down and feel at peace when near the water.
“We are beginning to learn that our brains are hardwired to react positively to water and that being near it can calm and connect us, increase innovation and insight, and even heal what’s broken,” says Nichols. “Water quiets all the noise, all the distractions, and connects you to your own thoughts,” he says.
Nichols’ words and the opulent pools below should give you the inspiration you need to design your dream pool - or at least go for a swim today.
